Lead Product Developer - Innovation
Job Description:
Our client is a global footwear firm, known for driving innovation and delivering high-quality products for athletes worldwide. They are currently seeking a Lead Product Innovation Developer to join their dynamic team in HCMC. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead cutting-edge development projects and bring innovative footwear concepts from idea to commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead innovation development from Tech Pack handoff to commercialized proof of concept
- Collaborate with global teams across the US & Asia to deliver advanced, performance-driven footwear
- Analyze designs and recommend improvements in construction and material usage
- Drive product performance through fit, wear testing, and risk assessment
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality samples and technical documentation (BOM, patterns, specs)
- Resolve development challenges with suppliers and factories
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support athlete and market needs
- Provide clear updates on project progress and commercialization timelines
- Work closely with Development, Engineering, QA, Production, and global teams
- Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external manufacturing partners
- Mentor and guide team members and factory staff when needed
- Stay updated on new materials, technologies, and manufacturing methods
- Participate in industry events, workshops, and innovation forums
- Contribute insights to elevate future product development strategies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Textile Engineering, or related field
- 8–10+ years of experience in footwear development or innovation (performance brands preferred)

Strong expertise in:
- Footwear construction & materials
- Compound development & testing standards (e.g., SATRA)
- Product development lifecycle and commercialization
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment
- Fluent English (Mandarin is a plus)
